Connecting the dots

We’re a month out from the premiere now… all the loose ends are coming together. Sort of.

Steve and I went up to Port Angeles late last week to present our survey findings to the scientists that have been advising us all year. We were able to identify the beaches where the marine debris is collecting and we were also able to quantify the debris found and relate the amounts found between beaches. The results show that the greatest concentrations were found near Portage Head, just north of the park boundary. (We’ll have a chart at the premiere that shows the debris distribution we came up with… along with other displays that will help bring the issue into clearer focus.)

However, while the Roadless Coast agenda is wrapping up, more-or-less, next year’s project is just getting fired up. There will be more to say about it in coming posts, but I can at least say that it is: exciting, different from this year’s trip and will take place in Alaska. (And yes, there will be a film about this one too.)
